Today we met Charlie and Lizwe, the hotel’s resident donkeys. And they like carrots.

Today we arrive at our third and final Wild Coast stop, the town of Port St. Johns. We check into “The Crystal House” and spot whales breaching from the balcony.

Today we arrived at the village of Lubanzi, the second stop on our Wild Coast Tour. We were told to wait off the main highway when we got close to the hotel. A shuttle would show us to a parking lot where we’d leave our rental car and then take us to the hotel, as the road to get there was not ideal for non four wheel drive cars.

The shuttle ended up being an old busted up truck, and the parking lot ended up being some random villagers yard complete with dogs, chickens, sheep and goats.

After hesitantly leaving our rental in the hands of farm animals, we soon realized it was much safer there than on the dirt road leading us to the coast.

We passed colorful rondavels and caught glimpses of the bright blue ocean that awaited us. After lots of twists, turns and bumps and jolts, we arrived. The welcoming committee was a family of ducks.
